Lace up Sweater + Faux Leather Skirt

Good Morning everyone! Today I'm sharing the second of three ways to style a black faux leather skirt. Did you see my post from last week featuring this same skirt with a blush velvet bodysuit? If not, check it out below! I got so many compliments on the blush bodysuit that was only $13! I'm a sucker for a good deal like that.  Of course it sold out in a heartbeat but don't worry I found a lace blush bodysuit for the same price! I linked it in the below post for you!

Lace up sweaters are on trend this season and what better way to wear one than with a fun skirt like this?  My skirt is currently on sale for only $35 and is THE perfect length. I would say it’s about 3 inches or so above the knee on me (I’m 5’6 and wearing a size 0). You can easily wear it to the office for a 9-5 look and pair with a fun pair of tights if you’re in cold weather – I live in the unpredictable Dallas weather so I usually just wear it as is or with over the knee boots if it’s chilly. I should also mention that this sweater is an absolute gem! I get so many compliments on it and it's such a great price at right under $45. If you're looking for a lace up sweater choose this one - I promise you won't regret it.

Velvet & Faux Leather Skirt

Whitney - blogger-0005.jpg

When I went home for Thanksgiving I was talking with my mom about how fashion makes a full circle and trends always come back in style over time. It was so interesting because she said she used to wear velvet, bell bottoms, and chokers all the time when she was a young girl. Selfishly I wish she held onto all her fabulous fashion so I could rock the same pieces today! How sweet would that be? Someone asks you where you got your velvet jumpsuit and you say "I got it from my mama!" Knowing that makes me want to hoard everything I own so if I'm blessed with a little girl one day I can pass it all down to her. I bet she'd be a fan of this look, I mean who doesn't love blush velvet and faux leather skirts? Velvet is on trend this season and I feel like it's everywhere - including my closet! Can't and won't stop wearing this trend into Fall & Winter !

Are you feeling the velvet vibes? I'd love to hear what trends you like this fall!

I am a huge fan of bodysuits, especially this one since it's only $13! My faux leather skirt is a new fall favorite and will be popping up on the blog a lot styled differently in each post! It's the PERFECT length and can be styled so many ways - dressy or casual!

My pumps are older and sold out but I liked three other styles that I love! I own the second and third pair and all three are under $100. I am loving that block heel on the first pair - so gorgeous!

My jacket is unfortunately sold out, however I found three other styles below that would look great with an outfit like this. Embroidery is on trend this season and I'm pretty sure I need to purchase this middle moto jacket considering it's only $45 and right up my alley!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Grey Tones

I don't know about y'all but I am so happy that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are OVER! I always go overboard, and this year was no exception. BUT I will say that I scored some great pieces that  a) I've wanted for a long time b) Bought on Sale - Winning! and c) Will share different ways to style with you all  (Of course I had you in mind!) So now that Thanksgiving has passed, it's time to move on to the last month of 2016, seriously where has this year gone? Seems like it went by so fast. I'm already starting to think of my new years resolution. I always make at least one for myself. Do you all make your own resolutions? If so I'd love to hear them!

One of my favorite ways to style a grey piece is with more grey! My cozy grey tie vest feels like a big blanket on, it's almost too comfy. It's on major sale at only $42! My go to grey tunic sweater is also on major sale, only $27! My black beanie is an all time favorite, it's the perfect slouchy style and it's northface so it actually does keep you warm!

Velvet Bodysuit

With the holidays approaching, I imagine we are all gearing up for tons of festive parties with family and friends. I couldn't be more excited to go back to my hometown and see all the faces I haven't seen in forever. Knowing that, I'm already trying to plan my outfits. Surprise, surprise. While some of those get togethers will be a more sophisticated dress code requiring a dress or jumpsuit, some certainly won't be! That's exciting to me because I can put my love for velvet tops to use with an outfit like this.

Pairing a velvet top with jeans or a skirt would be a chic outfit for a night out this holiday season. I can see myself wearing this out to have dinner with girlfriends or ringing in the new year - it's crazy to think it's almost 2017! Add a rich berry bag and a strappy heel and you'd be all set for a fun night on the town! A top like this is versatile, it's got a little edge mixed with a lot of chic that you could wear throughout the year, not just during the holiday season.

Faux Leather Moto Jacket

Every girl needs a black moto jacket in their wardrobe. Not only is a jacket like this edgy but it kinda makes you feel like a badass. I don't know maybe it's me (it prolly is just me) but when I think of leather jackets I'm reminded of Fonzie from Happy Days.  I was obsessed with that show as a kid and remember how cool he was always wearing his leather jacket and white t-shirt. So in other words, I feel as cool as Fonzie in my leather jacket. Did I just date myself? I think so.

Seeing as how it doesn’t get THAT cold in Dallas, often times I’ll just sport a sweater, moto jacket, beanie and be on my way. Honestly you can style a moto jacket in so many ways – including adding a feminine top like the one I’m wearing. The jacket alone is edgy, but the top adds a feminine touch.
