Paradise by Marriott Cancun
As some of you might know I traveled to Cancun last month on a girls' getaway trip with two of my blogger besties, Lynlee and Jaclyn and our other friend Stephanie! Believe it or not this was actually my first time visiting Cancun. I've been to other parts of Mexico in the past, (Cabo and Punta Mita) and had amazing experiences so I knew I was in for a few days of relaxation and fun! We stayed at both the Marriott Cancun and JW Marriott. Both properties are included in the Paradise by Marriott group of stunning resorts in both Mexico and the Caribbean.
From the moment we arrived we were treated with the best customer service and hospitality. I wasn't surprised because Marriott always seems to be next level when it comes to that. The two properties are right next to each other and the views were incredible! I'm having major FOMO right now wishing I could wake up to that again.
Both of the properties were stunning, but my favorite of the two was the JW Marriott. The best part of this property was the incredible infinity pool overlooking the ocean. As you can imagine we spent A LOT of our time there soaking up the sun and sippin' cocktails. As I mentioned above, the staff welcomed us every day with a big smile and were eager to help make our stay enjoyable. There were a lot of staff members around the pool areas to help with anything we needed..aka chips+guac, mojitos..you know the drill. That's huge for me and was very much appreciated!
There was quite a bit of difference between the rooms of the two properties. The Marriott Cancun rooms were nice, but quite a bit smaller and generally more outdated than the JW Marriott's rooms. The room and maid services were great at the Marriott Cancun. Jaclyn and my disaster room of clothes (blogger problems) was always organized so nicely once we got back to the room, which was such a nice surprise. I wish I could have that kind of service at my own home in Dallas, anyone who knows me well knows I could use it! The rooms at the JW Marriott were modern and super nice. The stand alone bathtub did it for me and I desperately wish I could be relaxing in it right this second! The bathroom was just huge in general which I loved and the overall room was spacious and super inviting. I felt very at home at the JW Marriott!
Let me preface by saying that neither of these resorts are all-inclusive. I didn't find it to be an issue though, because the prices at all the restaurants seemed pretty reasonable to me. All the food we had during our stay was delicious, but my favorites were the Mexican BUFFET (yes, you read that right) at Sedona Grill and Sasi Thai. I never say no to authentic Mexican food and that's exactly what Sedona grill brought to the table! My mouth was basically drooling at the massive buffet selection. All the things you could imagine: Tamales, fajitas, enchiladas..aka heaven on earth for me! There was also a mariachi band that came and played music at our table, which obviously made the experience that much more fun! The ambiance at Sasi Thai won me over. You walk into this bungalow-style outdoor restaurant and immediately feel relaxed and ready for an epic dining experience.
